People often tell me they don’t have "time" to read the

Journal. This is by far the shortest meditation we’ve posted.

I hope you enjoy this 16 seconds. If you’d like more, read on…

Everyone with a computer and a camera now has the capability to become their own television station. This is the phenomenon of YouTube and other programs.

What does this technology do to our consciousness? Who is this kid making the strange sounds that are so silly they may (I hope) make you laugh? He’s no one we know or are ever likely to meet. Standing in some spot – probably the bedroom in his home, he suddenly (and briefly) dances into our consciousness. He also may be someone whose performance helps us expand the meaning of a meditation.

A restful break doesn’t always require intense prayer and deep silence. It may be something that moves our mood and our energy in a short burst of time. But it may be enough to shake us from a low mood for the rest of the day.

I hope this little clip raised your energy today. Even more, I hope it helps bring balance to the serious and sometimes dreary work of caregiving.

When I went to the Journal (as I do almost every monring) I wondered for a second if someone had made a mistake! What was this image on the screen? Not flowers or a quiet mountain scene, but some kid? Someone from Wayne’s World? I’ve enjoyed all the meditations this week – and the clips you’ve started adding. But I must admit this was the most startling AND the most delightful. This funny, anonymous young man really raised my spirits. Thank you for sending this to us and helping highlight that not every meditation has to be “deep.”

From one who can take life and myself way too serious, I say thanks for this. Yes, to lighten up, shake it up, and let energy shift. I appreciate when friends offer another perspective and encouragement with a smile, a chuckle, or release of tension with a belly laugh. It is contagious. Entering into the flow of our day, to enjoy, have fun, I like this message. Alrighty then, and may our joys and laughter ripple out far and wide to tickle one another in heart and mind.

Has anyone ever seen the movie “Holiday” 1938, with Cary Grant and Katherine Hepburn? Woody and I really enjoyed watching it tonight. I highly recommend it, guaranteed to make you smile, chuckle, and belly laugh! This is a story of love and romance, and values. The question explored is whether to sell out to societies expectations of us and let the soul whither, or to follow the hearts true calling and dreams. Fabulous!
