With all the stuff flying around on cyberspace, including the now-pervasive you-tube, it can be difficult to discern what's worth watching. Our regular contributor, Liz Wessel, sent me this link to one of the most touching, two-minute videos I've encountered. The stars of this video are an elephant and a dog. What do they have to do with caregiving? Take a look.

What does story this tell us about caregiving?

Sometimes pictures, and in this case a video, can tell a story better than the best-written article. Animals teach us the meaning of unconditional Love and acceptance. Additionally, these unlikely companions show us the meaning of friendship, loyalty, and trust. I think we humans get into trouble when we begin to analyze people and their motives through a fear based lens rather than opening our hearts and trusting Love.

I love this video. An elephant and a dog – bff. How do you explain it? It can only be LOVE.

Oh, what a breath of fresh air!
What I get from this story is that a bond can develop between all creatures. And, to think that normally the dog and elephant wouldn’t live in the same habitat – somehow they do here, and they appear to be comfortable in doing so.
There’s so much we could learn from this example – love without boundaries.
Liz, thank you so much for this beautiful, insightful story!
