"A blessing touches that tender membrane where the
human heart cries out to its divine ground. In the ecstasy and loneliness of
one's life, there are certain times when blessing is nearer to us than any
other person or thing. A blessing is not a sentiment or a question; it is a
gracious invocation where the human heart pleads with the divine heart. There
is nothing more intimate in life than the secret under-territory where it
anchors."    -John O’Donohue

In Honor of St. Patrick's Day!

St, Patricks Day 2013
May the light of your
soul bless the work you do with the secret love and warmth of your heart.

May you see in what
you do, the beauty of your own soul.

May the sacredness of
your work bring healing, light, and renewal to those who work with you and to
those who see and receive your work.

May your work never
weary you.

May it release within
you wellsprings of refreshment, inspiration, and excitement.

May you be present in
what you do.

May you never become
lost in the bland absences.

May the day never
burden.

May dawn find you
awake and alert, approaching your new day with dreams, possibilities, and
promises.

May evening find you
gracious and fulfilled.

May you go into the
night blessed, sheltered, and protected.

May your soul calm,
console, and renew you.

    Liz,
Thank you for bringing peace to my day. The mandala is visually exquisite and your words are food for the soul. I have been reading Patrick’s “Confessions” today. He offers us the secret to his great strength in service to others.
“More and more the love and fear of God came to me, and my faith grew and my spirit was exercised until I was praying up to a hundred times every day and in the night nearly as often.”
As caregivers, we soon come to the end of our our resources and ability to love, but Patrick’s constant prayer in the presence of God gave him the power to love so greatly that he changed a land and a people forever.
