As we enter into the Sabbath of this summer eve I wish you peace; deep abiding peace… and love. May we know and be peaceful.  To make peace with whatever needs expression and to greet whatever feelings arise, no matter how difficult, with a little willingness to see anew. To give is to receive. May your peace filled radiance flow from within to warm the hearts of the world.

Buddha

Lord, make me an instrument of Thy peace;
Where there is hatred, let me sow love;
Where there is injury, pardon;
Where there is error, the truth;
Where there is doubt, the faith;
Where there is despair, hope;
Where there is darkness, light;
And where there is sadness, joy.

O Divine Master,
Grant that I may not so much seek
To be consoled, as to console;
To be understood, as to understand;
To be loved as to love.

For it is in giving that we receive;
It is in pardoning that we are pardoned;
And it is in dying that we are born to eternal life. Amen.

 "Contemplatives in all religions invariably come to the same insight because it is the deepest level of truth: Being is One." -Richard Rohr

    This is so lovely and restful, LIz. Ironically, when I played the video a pop-up ad appeared promoting the right to bear arms and opposing gun control complete with a disturbing video. Our free country offers such challenges. Since fear is always present in the world your words and images are deeply restful. Thank you.

    I am overwhelmed by the simplicity, the familiarity of Saint Francis’ poem. Take the time to examine the words, the phrasing, the beauty, the essence.
    In his few words are condensed the World’s religious thought…
    Lord, make me an instrument of Thy peace;
    Where there is hatred, let me sow love;
    (Those who are at peace and who are free from passions do not desire to live at the expense of others.) ~ Jainism
    Where there is injury, pardon;
    (Act in such a way that your heart may be free from hatred. Let not your heart be offended with anyone. If someone commits an error and wrong toward you, you must instantly forgive him.) ~ Bahá’í Faith
    Where there is error, the truth;
    (Conquer the angry man by love. Conquer the ill-natured man by goodness. Conquer the miser with generosity. Conquer the liar with truth.) ~ Buddhism
    Where there is darkness, light;
    (Rays that have wander’d into Darkness wide, Return and back into your Sun subside.) ~ Sufi
    The Oneness with God, The Oneness of God. The music and video by Snatam Kaur shows the universality of the message. Lord, make me an instrument of Thy peace. Amen.
    Thank you Liz for giving us this gift from your heart!

    How soothing, peace-filled and challenging; thank you Liz. As we pause, wait, look again and feel with compassion and empathy does not Peace draw us into that deeper space of Love?

    Thank you for receiving this in the spirit in which it was meant, Erie; as blessing.
    Ah, I missed that one completely (the pop-up add). Yes, our fearful thoughts distort our perceptions and how we experience on an individual level as well as societal; fear projected out. Sometimes when I am worried and awfulizing about something if just pause and ask myself, “how is this moment?” I suddenly realize, wow this moment is actually quite okay, and I begin to notice the sun, the gentle breeze, that it is better than okay, it is pleasant and it brings me back to a calm and peaceful awareness.
