After each of my children graduated from high school as both valedictorians and and Student Body President a friend said to me, "You must be so proud." Of course, I answered that I was.

But another friend said, "Maybe the better word is grateful."

   He's right.

In a word: Yes! Lately, since my retirement 16 years ago, I have realized how rich in people and adventures my life has been and still is; and that I’ve found and been given opportunities in life that few I know received.
Of course the second part of practicing gratitude is: to continue your journey with many side steps along the way to help others! These are two of the three legs of a small table that defines gratitude. And the last leg? For me, it is to shine a little light on your pathway with a regular and enthusiastic smile!
