The Perculiarities of Rain - erie chapman Naturally rain is important. Most fresh water comes from it.

Clouds have terrific names. The rainmakers are Nimbostratus. Lightning & thunder leap from beds of Cumulonimbus clouds.

But rain is cloud-bound until it becomes heavy enough for gravity to take over.

Science cannot communicate rain's true gravity. Only poets, film artists & painters can suggest how rain can soothe our heart.

My mother loved rain. When a storm signaled she would turn the lights low & gather us in the living room for a joyful experience that defines "cozy."

My short film series, "The Peculiarities of Water" continues. Part IV is named "The Gravity of Rain."

This is a meditation, not a story. Take care of yourself by releasing your caregiver's worries for a few moments. Experience the relaxation of rain.

Thank you for the gift of your meditation today, Erie. The sound of nature; rain, birdsong, thunder amid the changing flow and movement of life, through summer/winter, land and sea, majestic ever changing cloud formations on sky’s pastel canvas… ah, life giving sustenance of rain, new life, featuring nature’s exquisite designs…the pure eloquence of a white egret’s spirit soaring in and about on the notes of such marvelous music, stirs my whole being with gratitude for these moments of quiet solitude, stillness and peace. What a great way to greet this day!
