Happy to Be

Liz Sputnik Spotter

"To love oneself is the beginning of a life-long romance." ―Oscar Wilde

I thought I might bring a little levity and light heartedness into your day. In case you are wondering, this is me at age three and I think I was quite in awe of my new role as a Sputnik spotter. For those of you who are too young to know, it was on October 4, 1957, that the Soviet Union launched the earth's first artificial satellite, Sputnik-1. The successful launch came as a shock to experts and citizens in the United States, who had hoped that the United States would accomplish this scientific advancement first.

This video made my heart smile and I am hoping that it will makes yours smile too!

As you watch this video notice what resonates with you. I would love to hear from you!

A Blessing

by John O’ Donohue

May you know that absence is full of tender presence and that nothing is ever lost or forgotten.

May the absences in your life be full of eternal echo.

May you sense around you the secret Elsewhere which holds the presences that have left your life.

May your compassion reach out to the ones we never hear from and may you have the courage to speak out for the excluded ones.

May you become the gracious and passionate subject of your own life.

May you not disrespect your mystery through brittle words or false belonging.

May you be embraced by God in whom dawn and twilight are one, and may your belonging inhabit the deepest dreams within the shelter of the Great Belonging.

    Shower thoughts on the video…
Sandals and a wood axe do not go together.
Love yourself so you can love another.
Watching a sunset twice a day if one can.
Nature is the only thing that makes sense.
    Nature…Effortless source of life.
You can be the ripple in the pond.
    Be the positive source.
Wait for nature. It waited for you.
    Patience.
    Happy to Be.
    Acceptance to understanding.
You are also the mother/father of nature.
Love the photo…not sure of your expression at the time.
A Blessing by John O’ Donohue is a wonderful start of ones’ day…
    Thank you,
    Namaste

Thank you Liz. The video clip reminded me of a song, Just to Be, that is sung beautifully by Colleen Fulmer. The song is based on the words of Abraham Joshua Herschel, “Just to be is a blessing, Just to live is holy”. Both the video clip and the song remind me of my call ‘to be’ and how precious is each moment. May I treasure it! Thank you Liz.

SPECTACULAR, Liz. Equally entertaining is the serious look on your face – as if you are worried the U.S. will never catch up:-) Thank you for sharing your treasures with us!!
