Happy to Be
"To love oneself is the beginning of a life-long romance." ―Oscar Wilde
I thought I might bring a little levity and light heartedness into your day. In case you are wondering, this is me at age three and I think I was quite in awe of my new role as a Sputnik spotter. For those of you who are too young to know, it was on October 4, 1957, that the Soviet Union launched the earth's first artificial satellite, Sputnik-1. The successful launch came as a shock to experts and citizens in the United States, who had hoped that the United States would accomplish this scientific advancement first.
This video made my heart smile and I am hoping that it will makes yours smile too!
As you watch this video notice what resonates with you. I would love to hear from you!
A Blessing
by John O’ Donohue
May you know that absence is full of tender presence and that nothing is ever lost or forgotten.
May the absences in your life be full of eternal echo.
May you sense around you the secret Elsewhere which holds the presences that have left your life.
May your compassion reach out to the ones we never hear from and may you have the courage to speak out for the excluded ones.
May you become the gracious and passionate subject of your own life.
May you not disrespect your mystery through brittle words or false belonging.
May you be embraced by God in whom dawn and twilight are one, and may your belonging inhabit the deepest dreams within the shelter of the Great Belonging.
