The Spring of Raining Rainbows

Spring can thunderstorm rainbows as well as bloom flowers. But my photograph may look as odd and abstract as the grammar and the poetry of e.e. cummings.

   cummings, however, was a genius.

[in Just-]

in Just-
spring          when the world is mud-
luscious the little
lame balloonman

whistles          far          and wee

and eddieandbill come
running from marbles and
piracies and it's
spring

when the world is puddle-wonderful

the queer
old balloonman whistles
far          and             wee
and bettyandisbel come dancing

from hop-scotch and jump-rope and

it's
spring
and

         the

                  goat-footed

balloonMan          whistles
far
and
wee

Every spring since I encountered this poem a half century ago has been "mud-lucisous" and "puddle-wonderful." And every spring that "goat-footed balloon man whistles far and wee" and so do I.

    Thank you, ee.

I love the pairing of your artistic expression which seems to have transformed into a painting, “The Spring of Raining Rainbows” with cumming’s poem. Together they bring a sense of delight and a smile to my face! I was not familiar with this poem. I thank you for todays puddle wonderful, raining rainbows gift, Erie!
