“You are a volume in the divine book
A mirror to the power that created the universe
Whatever you want, ask it of yourself
Whatever you’re looking for can only be found
Inside of you”
― Rumi

Clouds 3

Sometimes I find it difficult to open to the dynamic, ever changing nature of life. Fear creeps in and my heart contracts in on itself.  I appreciate these words of wisdom from Pema and thought I would share them for reflection.

Pema Chodron on opening your heart:

“The only reason we don’t open our hearts and minds to other people is that they trigger confusion in us that we don’t feel brave enough or sane enough to deal with. To the degree that we look clearly and compassionately at ourselves, we feel confident and fearless about looking into someone else’s eyes. ”

And…

“When you open yourself to the continually changing, impermanent, dynamic nature of your own being and of reality, you increase your capacity to love and care about other people and your capacity to not be afraid. You’re able to keep your eyes open, your heart open, and your mind open. And you notice when you get caught up in prejudice, bias, and aggression. You develop an enthusiasm for no longer watering those negative seeds, from now until the day you die. And, you begin to think of your life as offering endless opportunities to start to do things differently.” ~Pema Chodron

Something about the fluidity in your mandala, Liz, challenges me to let go and allow the colours of beauty to drip from me in many wondrous ways. In the midst of letting go, does not the Centre, Light and Attraction shine ever more brightly? Then are we not caught up in the endless possibilities that life has to offer? Thank you Liz and Pema.

    The Mandala-
Looks like an eye surrounded by waves of colours. Swirling towards the center. As one gets closer, it is calmer, a oneness with self. But there is something in the middle…
(When you realize that you are looking into an eye, one wonders what that eye is seeing in you. I inverted the colours in the painting and did find an eye looking at me. To me a chameleon. What do you see?)
    The Words-
God is everywhere. God is in all things. Love is everywhere. The energy of Love will flow out to others and enrich their lives and therefore enrich yours. I was afraid to open up, but when I did i found the Love of a Friend.
Your reflection today is also a projection…
    Thank you.

LIz – The only thing more beautiful than the words of Rumi and Pema Chodrin is your mandala, LIz. It is my new favorite of all the ones you have done. Maybe that is because, in line with both of these sages, you have opened your vulnerability and beauty through your brush strokes. Thank you “God in all things,” as JVD mentioned.

Thank you for your beautiful affirmation, Erie. Sometimes acknowledging vulnerabilities makes them feel almost bigger than life but as energy shifts the feelings dissipate as if a cloud. Yes, grace abides.
