Recently several of our healthcare ministries moved together into one central location.  People I only knew through phone communication, I now greet in the elevator and we are all getting to know one another. This change has created a new sense of a community in our expanding network of care. (click on photo to enlarge)

A unique invitation was extended to caregivers to take part in commemorating our  sacred space while parts of our building are still under construction. We were encouraged to stop by the unfinished board room to pen an inspiring thought or blessing on the walls before they paint the room.

It was fun to see and experience creative and positive energy build and overflow as more and more caregivers began to participate. Throughout the week, people added their own uniquely meaningful verse,  blessings  and inspiration with a touch of  of humor  sprinkled here and there.

Although these prayer intentions will become invisible once painted over, Love's energy will remain. Photos will be taken of each person's inscription to offer as reflections, and others will be framed and posted throughout the building.

This sacred gesture between and among caregivers has enhanced a sense of unity,  reflecting the soul of our ministry in an abundance of wisdom, purpose and abiding Love.

What a superb idea! Am thrilled that photos will be taken of the inspiring words so that the hope and the love they instill will continue to permeate the new building. And no doubt what will be painted over will be there in spirit and will give birth to the something ‘new’ in many hidden but meaningful and surprising ways. Enjoy!

Love this. Gives new thoughts for “inside job” or “inside meaning”. Or perhaps hidden knowledge? If these walls could talk?
When we were putting on a new room addition to our house it was not quite done in time for a birthday celebration. But that did not stop the kids from decorating the walls! Underneath the drywall is their creations and handprints. Lots of great paintings by six and seven year olds. And a giant Barney the dinosaur to amuse the next owners down the road.
    Thanks Liz.

Wow, what a great birthday gift/celebration to offer children such a big white canvas, such an opportunity for free flow creativity!
A colleague shared that her daughter as a young girl had written on the walls of her closet through the years. They moved and many years later went to visit her childhood home. The people who purchased the home had never had the heart to paint over the inscriptions because they found them so precious. My colleague then took photos to save as a keepsake.

This is already a life-changing post for me, Liz. It happened when I read, “Today is a most unusual day because we have never lived it before.” Why had I never thought about that in this way before? In fact, this moment is unusual for the same reason. What a fresh way to view life. Thank you!
