Mom 103rd Birthday   She may not be the oldest person in the world but this birthday cake from August 21, 2015 does mark 103 years of life. At the end of 2015 she yet thrives – happy, joyful and always wishing the same for everyone else. That means this woman I am honored (along with my two sisters and brother) to call Mom has celebrated every holiday 104 times.

Perhaps, that is what it means to live a life that is rich as well as long – that you have actually celebrated each holiday as well as every other day. It is a stunning accomplishment for anyone.

People (including me) are always asking her about her secret to longevity and happiness. Her answer is simple and, at least for her, true. This is what she said recently: "Life is fun. Enjoy it."

Her expression in this image proves that she models her own advice.

My Aunt Molly is so cool! She played golf with me at Inverness when everyone was sometimes too busy. We hung out together and had fun. I love her philosophy; keep it simple. Enjoy it!

Erie: I love your Mum’s attitude towards life – to have fun and enjoy it. You and the rest of your family are really honored to have her around and enjoying her presence. I am glad you are celebrating Christmas with her and am sure looking forward to celebrating the New Year! Happy 2016 to all of you.

I am so delighted to hear tell of your precious mom. Her magnificent spirit is a true testament to loving life. God bless her!
Personally, I can take a serious slant on life and your mom’s motto, “life is fun. Enjoy it” is a welcome reminder to lighten up and let worries go…

I think maybe she inspired someone else in her life…
You have brains in your head.
You have feet in your shoes.
    You can steer yourself
    any direction you choose.
With your head full of brains,
and your shoes full of feet,
You’re too smart to go down any not-so-good-street.
Out there things can happen, and frequently do,
To people as brainy and footsy as you.
And when things start to happen, don’t worry, don’t stew.
Just go right along, you’ll start happening too!
You’re off to great places. Today is your day! Your mountain is waiting. So… get on your way.
