Erie Chapman, healthcare visionary and the founder of The Journal of Sacred Work, created  a sanctuary here for caregivers. A fount of respite & renewal; a sacred space that invites lingering & encouragement to see with one’s heart coupled with a desire to "live love, not fear" (Chapman).

Together we have come to cherish beauty; reflect light, offer hospitality, compassion & acceptance for ourselves through others. We share a unique camaraderie that affirms love. We experience mutual vulnerability as we explore life’s deeper meaning in the revelation of truth.

As another work week winds to an end,  Sabbath offers us the gift of a pause from all the doing… (For those who are working the w/e your Sabbath can shift to another day.)

Perhaps, you will gather at table to share a meal & conversation, exhausted yet ready to celebrate life by showing up.

Find rest on the ebb and flow of your breath & just as waves crash upon a shore, release your worries, frustrations & anxieties, at least for this moment.

Let go of all the white noise, step outside your door & “stand under the stars.”

Your posts, pictures & words, offer endless beauty, Liz. I pray to “the universe.” Sometimes I feel as though it has answered. But, whether I hear it or not I am grateful to know “it will have spoken.”

What an inspiring invitation Liz, as we move into Holy Week, knowing that by the end of the week our night sky will be lit fully by the brilliance of the Easter Moon. Standing under the stars is always such a humbling and awesome experience. May Stars bighten us as we journey into the living, loving, dying and rising of this coming week. Thank you Liz.

Liz: your painting is colorful and relaxing. It reminds me of the days when I looked forward to my vacation days when I took trips to see other countries -the plane took off and the “burden of work” was off my shoulder and I was enjoying and appreciating the “clouds” as I journeyed on. Another experience was visiting the Science Center in LA and see the Space Shuttle and “get lost” in the “Wonder of Space Travel”.

The longer I live the more highly do I estimate the Christian Sabbath, and the more grateful do I feel towards those who impress its importance on the community. ~ Daniel Webster

When you wish upon a star, remember that its light glowed towards your mother on the day you were born. Stop for a moment and reflect that as her prayer was answered that day, may yours be as bright.

This season of the practices of self reflection and hope, of another life beyond this earthly plain, was the reason I was able and honored to be with those facing the transition to the next place. What a privilege to be on that sacred ground. By God’s grace may you all continue in this important and awesome, awe -filled service.
