Church in trees   It is the best gift you can receive & the hardest to accept. It is the gift of gratitude – from you to yourself.

You will never be paid enough for the sacrifices you make. Yet you are rich. Every professional caregiver is. Your personal bank account is flooded with the gold of meaning.

That's an easy thing to forget after a day of helping patients while struggling under a supervisor who forgot that the leader's job is to support you. You are there to serve patients, not the boss.

You have helped so many. Thank yourself.

On the day of Jesus' birth & ever after, celebrate that you are living the message Jesus taught. Every time you serve the suffering you are serving God.

Breathe in the light that flows from every kind thing you have done. As you celebrate Jesus' birth bathe in the joy of your own.

Gratitude is a learned attitude! As I continue further into the aging process; my life is still blessedly comfortable and active; Thank you Lord! I try pause before I begin each meal; if only for a moment, in gratitude for all I have and am.
And when I see those I love–my family and friends, and when I see a gracious act by another to another, I smile to myself and again, am grateful for life, planet Earth, spinning all of us into and through our futures: full, we pray, of love, health, fulfillment, opportunities to serve others, using our God-given gifts, and yes, gratitude!

Cathedral of the trees, such a beautiful image to match the blessing of your words, Erie. Yes, to all caregivers, who give so generously, using their hands to heal with the suave of compassion. So many unsung heroes; theirs is the “gold of meaning.”
Yours is a lovely Christmas gift!
