Changing Tides 2018 -3

I live my life in widening circles
that reach out across the world.
I may not complete this last one
but I will give myself to it.

Changing tides 2018

I circle around God, around the primordial tower.
I’ve been circling for thousands of years
and I still don’t know: am I a falcon,
a storm, or a great song?

What glorious colours encircle us! And what Beauty maintains its circling power within and around us. Thank you Liz and Rilke.

Love radiates outward. The wave hugs you, holds you, keeps you warm.
Open your arms and wave out to others the feeling of Love.
The illustrations come close to the heart. Circles and rainbows. Waves of Light. Home…
    Thank you, Liz

Thanks so much Maureen! I was first introduced to Rilke’s glorious poem by Erie here on the JSW. I wanted to find a poem to pair with my drawings and searched until I came across Rilke’s beautiful expression. It seemed to be a good fit. Although my cousin reached out to ask if I was ok because of the line “I may not complete this last one.”
Life is so fragile, each day and each person a gift. We can not take a day or ever a friend for granted…but rather with a grateful heart.

We are surely all of these “falcon, storm, great song.” And your drawings are all of these as well. Thank you, dear Liz.

Circles and spirals are excellent ways to reflect our life in God and planet Earth.
When advising career clients I always told them to think of their careers as a continuing spiral that would curve and sometimes they would dip down to take a job with less pay but more use of their special abilities (gifts). So in this case, a downward spiral is a good thing!
OF course, to simplify our existence to mere circles or spirals is a bit presumptuous, yet notice the gentle arcing turns in any good sized river or stream as it tumbles toward the ocean and eternity. We also will return to our source when all is said and done and that is a very good thing indeed!
