Red Thread-2

Researchers have discovered that about 50,000 thoughts pass through our mind each day. Many of those thoughts rise up from an internal voice of criticism. I've heard it said that our thoughts create our reality or our outer world is a reflection of our inner reality.  Yikes!

A reversal of thought is the basis of all spiritual awakening-"change your thoughts and you change your life." If this is true, then perhaps the answer to world problems begins with changing my worldview? I am learning that world peace begins with inner peace. As I pay attention to my inner thoughts I recognize that I have many moments of negative self talk.  Noticing helps as I cultivate a relationship of loving kindness within. Seeding positive affirmations can create openings to new ways of experiencing life in communion with others.

This morning while in the dentist chair I was practicing offering positive thoughts for my dentist as well as myself and affirmed how well I was doing. I found it reassuring.

Suffering arises when we feel separate from one another, yet we long for a sense of belonging.

A thought for us to reflect on today…

"Which snowflake is the most magnificent? Is it possible that they are all magnificent—and that, celebrating their magnificence together they create an awesome display? Then they melt into each other, and into the Oneness. Yet they never go away. They never disappear. They never cease to be. Simply, they change form. And not just once, but several times: from solid to liquid, from liquid to vapor, from the seen to the unseen, to rise again, and then again to return in new displays of breathtaking beauty and wonder. This is Life, nourishing Life." –Neale Donald Walsch

Sending thoughts of gratitude to you…

So very true, Liz. Thanks for the reminder as well as the encouragement with practical ways in which we can change how we look at life and the moments of each day. Neale Walsch captures the life cycle of a snow flake in such a positive way I feel drawn to pause and gaze upon the reality of the present moment and the richness of its particular journey.

There’s a bright, golden haze on the meadow
There’s a bright, golden haze on the meadow.
The corn is as high as an elephant’s eye
And it looks like it’s climbing clear up to the sky.
    Oh, what a beautiful Mornin’
    Oh, what a beautiful day.
    I’ve got a beautiful feelin’
    Everything’s goin’ my way.
All the cattle are standin’ like statues
All the cattle are standin’ like statues
They don’t turn their heads as they see me ride by
But a little brown mav’rick is winkin’ her eye
    Oh, what a beautiful Mornin’
    Oh, what a beautiful day.
    I’ve got a beautiful feelin’
    Everything’s goin’ my way.
All the sounds of the earth are like music
All the sounds of the earth are like music
The breeze is so busy it don’t miss a tree
An’ a ol’ weepin’ willer is laughin’ at me
    Oh, what a beautiful Mornin’
    Oh, what a beautiful day.
    I’ve got a beautiful feelin’
    Everything’s goin’ my way.
    Oh, what a beautiful day!
(Richard Rodgers and Oscar Hammerstein II)
If you wake up to this and keep it in your heart all day, you will be a’smilin’. Those around you will feel your happiness and start an inner smile, too!
To all…Peace, love and understanding with a double shot of happiness thrown in…

Ah, the present moment…not seeking to get to somewhere else, but aware that god is in all things… yes, “the richness of our journey”
    Thank you for enriching mine!
