WHERE MANY RIVERS MEET

All the water below me came from above.
All the clouds living in the mountains
gave it to the rivers,
who gave it to the sea, which was their dying.

And so I float on cloud become water,
central sea surrounded by white mountains,
the water salt, once fresh,
cloud fall and stream rush, tree roots and tide bank,
leading to the rivers’ mouths
and the mouths of the rivers sing into the sea,
the stories buried in the mountains
give out into the sea
and the sea remembers
and sings back,
from the depths,
where nothing is forgotten.

Oh Liz, what a powerful reminder of not only the cyclic pattern of nature but the call we have to surrender to the cycle and Mystery of Life. Wonderful images in the poem and captured so creatively in art by you. Thank you Liz.

    Trees touch the clouds
The clouds and trees whisper to each thanks to the wind.
Do you wonder what they talk about?
Do they gossip about the sun and the moon, the birds and the bees. The good old days before mankind.
Perhaps the tree is reaching out a branch, a hand to hold. A caring hand of a caregiver. “Hold my hand. We can weather the storms,
and create a bridge over the troubled waters.”
The trees and it’s friends, the clouds, communicating, nurturing the thought of Love.
    For me.
    For you.
    Namaste

Thanks so much Maureen. The last lines of Whyte’s poem really resonate with me,”the stories buried in the mountains, where nothing is forgotten.” We create our stories it is in relationship with one another and the ebb and flow where the sacredness unfolds…always to be remembered…

What lovely prose Jolyon, enhancing this weeks reflection. Thank you! Working as you do, out in nature among the trees, the clouds, wild flowers, warm breezes rustling leaves, the hawks floating on air currents…all converging with a sense of appreciation. Namaste!

    “…stories buried in the mountains

And from your hands and heart comes one of your finest water colors, Liz – truly one of my top two or three favorites. The palette is so appealing to my eye, The tiled face give the image a Japanese delicacy. What window you have created – overlooking a lake as peaceful as are you. Thank you.
