A Reveral of Thought

I am discovering that in sharing ones' story, which often stems from adversity and the wisdom gleaned from the experience, a persons' light filled essence is revealed.  This is a true gift to behold. To share our truth with another, requires a willingness to be seen in an exquisite, mutual vulnerability. This is where our humanity mingles with the divine. Where we risk speaking of things that are meaningful…to allow space for all that needs to be expressed, released and healed.

I am surprised by the moments when my heart suddenly closes in on itself triggered by fear and ancient hurts. A reversal of thought resurrects hope carried on the current of every loving thought. To share in a common light hearted laugh or a willingness to go deep within another’s grief, we find the courage to greet ourselves.

I seek forgiveness from every person I have ever met, for the protective shell that I have donned, for the hurts I have blindly caused but see more clearly now, for the need of forgiveness that is the door to healing of every human heart, for I know we are meant for so much more.

I am learning that your story is not so different from my own and that our separateness is only an illusion. Our thoughts, the stories we tell ourselves become our beliefs but are not necessarily true and are often distorted perceptions.  We can choose a new story and a new way of being that blesses others and eases the immense, unnecessary suffering in our world.

I see that kindness is a most precious gift; one that is sorely needed, for we are surely all wounded healers; one to another. The problems of this world seem so complicated but the answer to every problem is extraordinarily simple; to give and receive even the smallest of kind gestures has the power to change the self-destructive trajectory of our world.

I understand that every thought I think creates war or peace. I choose my thoughts, I can choose anew in every moment.

Lord, let us choose peace.

It’s not that easy being green
Having to spend each day the color of the leaves
When I think it could be nicer being red, or yellow or gold
Or something much more colorful like that
    It’s not easy being green
It seems you blend in with so many other ordinary things
And people tend to pass you over
‘Cause you’re not standing out like flashy sparkles in the water
    Or stars in the sky
But green’s the color of Spring
And green can be cool and friendly-like
And green can be big like an ocean,
Or more important like a mountain,
    Or tall like a tree
When green is all there is to be
It could make you wonder why,
    But why wonder why wonder,
I am green and it’ll do fine, it’s beautiful
And I think it’s what I want to be
    (Written by Joe Raposo)
P.S. Green is growth like your painting and it like you are beautiful…

You artwork is always spectacular and your personal sharing, and the wisdom in your sharing, will be so helpful to so man. In particular, I was drawn to this powerful learning: “Our thoughts, the stories we tell ourselves become our beliefs but are not necessarily true and are often distorted perceptions. We can choose a new story and a new way of being that blesses others and eases the immense, unnecessary suffering in our world.”
