Three Generations -2

Trust the process of change.
Sometimes a familiar thing needs to die
before an unfamiliar new sprout can grow.

Whether it is a big transition
or a wee, little one
fear is a normal emotion
on the path of transformation.

A wise friend once told me
that fear of the unknown
is excitement, holding its breath.
I remember this
when I am about to birth
new little things
or little big things.

And I remember that every mountain
has a path
and that the path itself
is as valuable
if not more so
than the mountaintop
because without it
you could not get to the very top to see the view.

The path seasons us
sometimes more
than the mind expansive eye opening
perspective
at the top.

When in doubt, remember
trust the process.
trust the journey.
trust the invisible and not so invisible
helpers
that assist us
across the rivers of change.

if that does not work
and all else fails
and you are scared
and feeling tiny
and know that you are about to birth
some kind of wonderful
just imagine that you are held
in the arms
of the great mother
the grandmother
the gentle forest mother bear spirit
of nourishing trust.

Words: The Wild Matryoshka

Reflection:  As I read these wonderfully helpful words, I appreciate the expression of and acknowledgment of vulnerability.  The phrase "fear of the unknown is excitement, holding its breath." is electrifying.   A powerful seed of hope . My mind flashed back to my child bearing days and the natural childbirth process in which we welcomed both our sons into this world. In preparation, I was taught how to breathe with and into the experience rather than to resist the pain. Oh the excitement, anticipation of heralding a new little spirit into our family!

Then a beautiful affirming awareness of my courage flooded my consciousness, an awareness of my own inner strength.  I thought of all the invisible and not so visible helpers who have, and continue to, bless my life.

Wishing you a blessed Thanksgiving and as we reflect upon our blessings, please know I am truly grateful for your presence in my life.

Shared with love,

The wonder, the joy, the excitement, the fear of transition / change is graced by trust and hope. As we move into whatever the new era is going to be for our world and our own little segment of the world may be encouraged by the inspiration given to us by Stasha. May the coming Thanksgiving weekend draws us into what is most precious in life, rejoice in it and give thanks to our Giver of all Gifts.

In many important ways, you describe life’s ultimate wisdom in the line that describes the practice you were taught during childbirth: “to breathe with and into the experience rather than to resist the pain.” And the courage that flowed through you after you did that and welcomed each of your sons.
Yes, we need to stand strong against wrongdoing & to speak up for Love. As we do so, perhaps our courage will rise if we understand how to “breathe with” the angry reactions that often come when Love is spoken. thank you, Liz.

Stay safe my friends. Enjoy Thanksgiving by Zooming or Facetiming those that are not at home. Love your neighbor. Read some scriptures.
