Slience

So very easy to give thanks when all goes well in our lives. But it takes quiet reflection to do so when our country is suffering severely in a Pandemic, and deep into a political chasm eclipsing our sacred values of personal conduct, fair behaviors, and nonjudgmental outlooks on life.  As committed caregivers, we realize how important using positive attitudes is in helping others heal, dream, and prosper in today’s turbulent times.

How use quiet time?  I begin each day with silence, first in meditation and prayer, and then a period of soothing and affirming classical music which settles my soul.  I also walk up to 2 miles every day and let my mind roam, feeling and cultivating a pronounced sense of gratitude for being healthy and able to use physical exertion to accent my sense of, and rightful place in our universe. I am a small but significant part of all things known and unknown. There is always something to be thankful for; when silent you will let these thoughts surface!

You are the Captain of your journey and the prime mover of your fate!  In difficult situations, dwell more on the pluses in your life and do not focus or spend time on those challenges which you can’t control.  Over time, you will find positive thoughts will dominate your attitude toward life and you will find new interests that you enjoy; new adventures you never imagined, and live more fully.

I appreciate seeing this photo that accompanies your reflection, honoring indigenous people and a powerful reminder of how much healing still needs to be recognized and acknowledged for healing to occur.
Blessings and peace to you and yours this Thanksgiving w/e Terry. I am so grateful to you for your encouraging words and thoughtful ways.
“There is always something to be thankful for”… and I am thankful for you!

What a lovely posting, Terry. I particularly like this line of yours: “I am a small but significant part of all things known and unknown.” We are important to ourselves, to some other – particular those whose lives we have made better even if for just a moment. YOU have done that for some many people in so many times and so many ways. And you do it again for everyone who experiences this piece of yours.
