Slingshote to Nuclear War

Too many soldiers from all countries gave their lives since human beings picked up stones and slingshots, then catapults and now nuclear war is in mankind's quiver of suffering and death! God watches our inadequate use of free will and sighs, "this too must end!"

Caregivers worldwide pray and fervently hope for the killing fields to turn green with crops and clean water, for all our billions of living people, animals, and plants. And all of us pray and should pitch in to lessen worldwide suffering from armed conflicts; hatreds of differing cultures; and interpersonal animosities that rise to bloodshed and subjugation of others!

You can help too:

  • By buying products which recycle; eat more veggies and fruits and less red meats.
  • Grow your own vegetable or flower garden.
  • Take long walks in Nature and focus on the Gift that Planet Earth truly is and how we can all make it more safe, green, and welcoming to all.
  • Take a bag with you when walking and pick up trash as you go.
  • No one can move us to a kinder, better, and more livable planet Earth than all of us right now!

Refelction Questions offered by Liz:  What connections can you make between war and environment concerns?  What behavior can you/I change today that can become a new habit for not only ourselves the benefit of others, our eath? Could this change be in honor of a loved one this Memorial Day weekend??

Terry, thank you for your refflection and what resonates for me is the interconnectedness of all life. I think at the root of cause of the worlds problems stems from poverty. Taking it all the way to the molecular level; our thoughts and experiences create the lens through which we see this world. We have two choices love and fear.
We need to be very intentional about which seeds we water…
As I reflect this Memorial Day w/e on the sacrifices made by my family memebers and so many brave men and women, my my heart swells with gratitude.

Thanks for this column and glad to have it carry over into part of Memorial Day, Terry! Love your suggestions and hope some will pick up on them. You and I have so many relatives that have served and I am grateful for YOUR service among them.
