You, as a caregiver, are a person who cares about others on a regular basis. You make time to give care and seldom miss providing superior care.
But, do you provide enough care to yourself? This may seem self serving, but is truly a critical factor in sustaining your high level of caring for others!
Do you schedule self care such as vacations when doable; do you have a doable physical exercise routine like walking, jogging, bowling, or any activity which gives you pleasure plus a mental health boost?
When you take mental and physical breaks from your caring routine; you will be better able to sustain your high level of caring.
Hobbies such as reading, photography, golfing, fishing or travel, provide a needed time to regroup your commitment and ability to maintain the caregiving which is an integral part of who you are!
Reaching out to family, friends, colleagues, and others who can help you take needed self time!
