Tia ty st. cath agedHere is a lovely, brief, guest post from Terry Chapman:

I Dreamed a dream that all was wrong; no caregivers in their cherished throng!

But woke to see them all in place,

Helping all and full of grace!

My simple poem is a gentle call to cherish and support caregivers, from the smile as you give some cash to a stoplight beggar to the lifetime care you give your family to the self care you give yourself everyday through yoga, or quiet meditations, or walking, or giving thanks to God for all we are and all we have!

Try adding just one more caring act to your to do list and reach out beyond your Christmas card list to say hello.  Be the person who always cares!

Thanks for your reflection Terry. I love the photos and your haiku.
Sadly, your dream is somewhat true at present, as our nation experiences a severe caregiving shortage at crisis level proposrtions. In healthcare, caregivers who have been experiencing sustained stress levels that go beyond burnout to moral distress.
The good news is the innovation that has been required with regulatory burdens eased to implement innovative strategies. Leaders continue to explore, rethink test and implement systems and structures related to care provision to find ways to ease the way of caregivers by reducing burdens with documentation and non patient time. So out of darkness the light of love continues to shine.
My gratitude to you and Erie for continuing to shine the Light of RLC.
